Lisa Brett
Spanish Specialist

Lisa Brett is a native to Silicon Valley, and was raised in this diverse community with a strong belief in education. A graduate of Homestead High School in Cupertino, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from UCSC before enrolling in a bilingual teaching credential program. Five years later, she graduated from Stanford University with her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Teacher Education, with an emphasis in Math Education.

Lisa comes to Discovery Charter School with a wide range of teaching experiences. From a Spanish/English bilingual first grade class to teaching in the Teacher Training program at San Jose State University, she has spent 16 years working with students. Additionally, many of those years were spent teaching mathematics and science. Being a parent of elementary aged children, Lisa works to make her lessons fun and engaging to her students. Singing, drawing, and acting out skits or dialogs are all methods she loves to use to bring Spanish alive in class. She is excited to work with the parents and students at Discovery Charter.
