Katie Chin
Math Specialist

Katie Chin holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Geochemistry/Geophysics from Harvey Mudd College, a Master’s Degree in Physical Oceanography from University of Washington, and a Science Communications Certificate from UC Santa Cruz.

In 2004, Katie transferred her skills as a former oceanographer and science journalist to the role of a science teacher for an independent parent co-op school. At Cresmont, Katie was responsible for designing and implementing science units for all K-5 grade levels. 

Katie then went on to work for East Bay Conservation Corps. Charter School in Oakland, California in a 4th/5th combination class. She joined our teaching staff for our inaugural year 06/07.

Katie’s teaching-related volunteer experience includes serving as full-time classroom aide for astronomy, physics, and model rocket classes at the Lawrence Hall of Science and LEGO robotics camp at the Chabot Space and Science Center.
