Carol Crouthamel grew up in the Philadelphia, PA area, and went to The University of Minnesota for her collegiate studies in 2000. While there, she swam for The Golden Gophers WomenÕs Swim team, and worked on obtaining her teaching credential and MasterÕs Degree in The Foundations of Education.
Carol continued her journey west in 2005 when she started her first teaching job in San Bernardino, CA as a sixth grade teacher at Golden Valley Middle School. During her two years at Golden Valley, Carol truly realized her passion for creating meaningful, student centered activities that target individualÕs passions and talents.
Carol moved to the San Jose area in 2007, and continued her teaching career at Christa McAuliffe School, a parent participation school in Cupertino. Carol continued her passion for meaningful teaching moments by incorporating an integrated curriculum that emphasized choice and voice for students in the activities and concepts studied.
In addition to teaching, Carol has been able to utilize the skills of management, goal setting, and relationship building that she has learned in the classroom to her work as a swim coach.
