Dan Dowling grew up in Ridgecrest, CA, which is in the Mojave Desert. The next six years he spent in Arcata, CA, where he graduated from Humboldt State with a Liberal Studies Elementary Education degree. Dan is currently working on obtaining his Master’s Degree/Credential from UCSC. Recently, he has lived in Santa Cruz where he has been serving as a one-to-one aide to students with special needs.

Since high school, every job Dan has had has been working with kids in some way. He’s coached basketball, worked at after school programs, tutored, and worked with students with special needs. He loves teaching students new things and heÕs excited to be leading his own class next year! Dan really enjoys doing hands-on activities that allow the students to get up and become involved in the lessons.

In his free time he likes to play basketball, watch sports on T.V., listen to music, see live music, and travel. He enjoys visiting Yosemite every summer, and looks forward to going on field trips with his DCS students next year.
