Jonathan Lee
4th Grade Teacher

Mr. Lee has been teaching in Campbell and San Jose for more than 23 years and has taught in elementary and middle schools (every grade level from 3rd to 8th). Jonathon has administrative experience as an assistant principal and summer school principal, and has coached teams in track, cross-country, soccer, softball, and basketball.

Jonathon is an all around lover of knowledge. He has a passion for children and teaching, and has a strong in-depth knowledge of teaching strategies. He particularly enjoys teaching math and literature. Additionally Jonathon has a close working relationship with Hicklebee’s bookstore, where he has helped to bring authors such as Rhea Perlman and Alice Walker into local schools.

Jonathan was born in Cincinnati Ohio 2 days after Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have a Dream“ speech. He thoroughly believes everyone should be judged by the content of his character, and therefore should strive to develop into a person of character. He has been teaching ever since he can remember, “being the oldest of 11 children you are always teaching someone something.“ Jonathon became a professional teacher after graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Elementary Education. He also holds a Masters Degree in Educational Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco.

Jonathan has been married for over 2 decades, and is the father of 2 awesome boys, Christian (8th grade) and Jon-Martin (6th grade). In addition to reading kids books, Jonathan loves sports, Hawaii, and the ocean. He is very excited to be teach the wonderful students at Discovery.
