Discovery Charter School

April Woodcock
K/1 Teacher

After taking a year off to spend time with her baby girl Lily (who is currently 18 months) April Woodcock returned to Discovery Charter School to continue as a K/1 teacher.

Ms. Woodcock enjoys creating hands-on curriculum related to various themes. Her passion comes out when she is creating cooking, art, and science lessons. April enjoys getting messy and having fun with the curriculum.

While working during the school’s inaugural year Ms. Woodcock learned the power of creating small group instruction and enjoyed having parent volunteers to implement effective lessons. She was hooked on the Discovery program! April loves the diversity of her students and feels it is an amazing part of the program. "I love working with a wide range of abilities and ethnicities".

Prior to joining Discovery Charter School April Woodcock was an Educational Director. Ms. Woodcock graduated the credential program at California State University, Long Beach in 2005.

April enjoy being outdoors and going on hikes. April loves reading books whenever she has a spare moment (but we think Lily keeps her very busy).
