4th and/or 5th Grade Teacher (loops with class)
Alisha Zare, which rhymes with "sorry", recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Hutchins Liberal Studies Blended program at Sonoma State University. In this rigorous, four year program, Alisha worked to complete her Bachelor of Arts and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential simultaneously.
As a passionate math educator, she also found the opportunity to work on adding a Single Subject Math credential while at Sonoma State. She loves helping students discover how math can relate to the world around us.
During her student teaching, Alisha had the opportunity to work with first through fifth grades, integrating the variety of learning styles into her teaching. Acknowledging her own love for art and sports, she hopes to have students incorporate their interests into the classroom while also finding new ones. Always enjoying the opportunity to get to know her students better, it is not uncommon to find her out at recess, joining in a game of tetherball or soccer.
With a strong background in community service, Alisha has coordinated tutoring programs, created advocacy and awareness weeks, and served as a summer camp counselor. Each of these extra-curricular experiences has confirmed her passion for working with children. Looking forward to becoming a teacher since her own days as an elementary school student, Alisha is excited to finally start this next step on her life-long goal.
She is very excited to be joining Discovery this year and knows that it will be a great opportunity to work with such a supportive community.
