Admission - School Information Meetings and Open House

To register for the open house and information meeting click here.

Please note that attendance at both the school information meeting and the open house is required for an application to be considered complete. You may submit your child's application for enrollment at any time during the open enrollment period. You need NOT wait to attend the required meetings to submit the application.

School Information Meetings

Please pre-register for information meetings as attendance is mandatory and tracked. Be sure to sign in at the meeting. Note: Siblings of current DCS families need not attend this mandatory meeting. Applicants on previous year wait lists must attend the information meeting as part of the application process.

Information Night Meetings: School Information Nights will be held at Westgate Church located at 1735 Saratoga Avenue, San Jose, CA 95129 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. ( Directions )

Information Day Meetings: are for those that cannot make an evening meeting; these meetings will be held at Discovery Charter School, Room 18.
Thursday, February 9, 2012 @ 9:00-10:30 a.m. (Space is limited; pre-register)
Tuesday, March 20, 2012 @ 9:00-10:30 a.m. (Space is limited; pre-register)
Please note that you MUST have submitted your child's application for enrollment by Wednesday, March 14th @ 4:00pm to qualify for the Lottery.

Open House

Discovery Charter School will be offering two open house events this year. Please pre-register for the open house event. Plan to arrive at the open house between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. for check in. Please meet in the Discovery Charter School courtyard and be sure to sign in upon arrival as verification of attendance is mandatory for the application to be considered for the lottery. You will sign in then join a tour group to visit classrooms. Note: Siblings of current DCS families need not attend this mandatory meeting. Applicants on previous year wait lists must attend the information meeting as part of the application process.

Open House Dates:
Thursday, January 26th @ 9:00-10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, February 29th @ 9:00-10:30 a.m.

Registration for all meetings will be available online as of January 3, 2012. Please check back after January 3rd. You may not sign up prior to that date.

Please note: If an information meeting or open house is full, it will not be an option on the menu for registration. You will need to choose another date.

Lottery date: April 4th at Discovery Charter School Rm. 2 at 2:00 p.m. Lottery attendance is optional. Results will be posted online within 24hrs.

Admission Lottery Preference Categories:

Enrollment preferences shall be given in the following order:

A. Siblings of currently enrolled students

B. Children of Discovery employees

C. Discovery Alumni families

D. Residents of Moreland School District students on prior year's wait list

E. All other residents of Moreland School District

F. All other students on prior year's wait list

G. All other California residents
