D2 Laps for Learning

It is our annual fundraiser walkathon to help raise money to pay for the daytime field trips that will take place during the 2014-15 school year. 

Students can use the attached pledge form to collect donations for the fund.

The walkathon will take place on campus during the morning of Wed, Nov 5th. Students will walk or run laps to help raise money to cover this year's field trips.

Laps for Learning is an event shared by the staff and all of the students as they come together to support the benefits of the Discovery teaching philosophy. Parents are also invited to come out and walk with their child or children on campus.

Money raised by this event helps pay for this year's field trips. Daytime field trips expose our children to learning outside of the classroom. Show our children that you also value the numerous field trip opportunities that they experience by sponsoring them and encouraging them to participate. We hope to see 100% participation!

All money raised helps pay for THIS year’s field trips. The goal is for each child to ask 10 people for a flat donation of $10. If everyone does this, Discovery could potentially raise $30,000!

Pledge envelopes due by Monday, October 27, 2014.

We are asking that EACH student raise $100. We are requesting flat donations instead of per-lap donations as money can be collected up front. If each student collects $10 from 10 people they will make the goal of $100. If each child achieves the $100 goal, we will earn more than $30,000 for this year's field trips! We would like everyone to contribute, even if they are unable to raise $100.

Together, we can make this a very successful Laps for Learning event at Discovery 2!
