The primary purpose of ELAC is to advise the school Principal/Director and school staff regarding the instructional programs and support services for English Learners.
The ELAC committee at Discovery Charter strives to keep English learner parents informed about issues related to their children in order to better advocate for them. Because the U.S. educational system may be foreign to the parents of English learners, the committee also educates parents about the educational system in this country as well as the importance of regular school attendance.
