Ron McDowell

Being prepared can reduce fear, anxiety and losses that accompany disasters. Individuals, families, and communities should know what to do in the event of an earthquake and other disasters.
This short course is going to get you started by helping you plan and prepare for an earthquake and other potential emergencies. There are some simple things we can do to increase our family’s safety and comfort. Preparing should be more fun than effort. In our emergency preparedness training, you will have an opportunity to make a family communication plan, explore possible emergency supplies and tool options and learn how to reduce your (and family’s) risks of injury during and after a disaster. My main intention for sharing this information with Discovery parents is that you will return home empowered and hopeful about possible emergencies you might encounter.
