Hello DCS parents,
Marina Shepherd will be offering two different workshops- each will be offered three times. We have had great feedback about these workshops AND the information shared is very important for keeping our school a safe place for our kids to thrive.

Do You Know ...?

... what to do when a student tells you that someone has hurt them or been "mean" to them?
... what to do when you see what looks like a conflict happening between students?
... what to do when you are not sure if students are playing or fighting?
... when you should intervene and when to leave well alone?
... how to recognize a teachable moment?
... how to use the teachable moment?
... how to recognize bullying?
... when you should ask for help and make a report?
... how to make a report?

As aides you probably deal with situations every shift that challenge you - it's hard work! These workshops that will help you understand what you may see or hear while you are working. Your role is crucial to our students feeling comfortable and safe so that they can focus on the work of being a child, learning, in the classroom and in the yard.
