Dia de los Muertos
Attention all DCS parents! On November 2nd, Buddy Classes will be invited to take part in some fun Dia de los Muertos themed activities. There will be some shrines (altares) set up on the blacktop and the kids will get to read a book about the holiday and do a fun craft relating to the book.
We need stuff and support from parents. If you have some items you can donate for the project, we are in need of general items like fake flowers, sequins, bead necklaces, fake plastic jewelry, plastic animals, pumpkin seeds, spices, old looking photos, plastic skeletons, and glitter. If you have specific items like Catrina dolls, sugar skulls, pan muerto, mexican chocolate, papel picado, real marigolds, metal milagros or items that we can BORROW- that would be great.

There will be a box outside of room 4 to drop off items. Please label any items you would like returned to you. We also could use some parent volunteers to help host the altars outside. You will be given a fact card about one aspect of the shrine and would only need to help guide students and monitor the altar. Anyone know how to paint faces like calaveras (skulls)??
