Dear Discovery Charter Schools Community:
It is with great privilege and honor that I welcome you to the 2023-24 school year! I hope you had an opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends and that you are recharged and ready for a great year of learning!
Throughout my tenure as an educator I have always been motivated by my beliefs that all children deserve a safe and quality education. I promise to be actively present to see to it that the students and families of Discovery have the best educational experience. As your Executive Director, my focus is to prioritize academic success for all students while supporting our mission: creating lifelong learners that are prepared to meet the challenges of the future by educating the whole child through family involvement, project-based learning, and respect for individual learning styles and developmental readiness.
Discovery has 18 years of experience using a parent participation and community involvement model. Your active participation in your child’s classroom and school positively impacts their success. Discovery families are passionate and committed to our model and it is just one of the many reasons why families “choose” Discovery.
I am excited about this school year and I hope you share the same sentiment. Discovery Charter Schools remain committed to our traditions and philosophies that make Discovery one of a kind. This year we will continue to support all students through social emotional tools, child centered Project Based Learning and we will train over 200 new families in Positive Discipline.
We will continue to build community across our organization through One Discovery, One Team! I anticipate several opportunities for families to meet and to participate in activities in and across our organization.
I look forward to your engagement with us and seeing you all in person when we open the doors August 15! I know our site Directors and staff are just as excited to welcome you and your students.
