A Day in the Life of a Falcon Student

Arrival

The school day begins promptly at 8:30 am, and students are expected to arrive on time every day. When students are tardy, learning stops for everyone. Students who arrive after the gates close must report to the office, sign in, and obtain a tardy pass before proceeding to class.

Drop Off

To ensure safety and flow of traffic, our Drop Off Team of volunteers come bright and early to assist your child if you choose to use the Quick Drop Off Lane. Drivers are expected to follow their instructions as well as all traffic and safety rules.

Mornings

Students settle in, and classes gather for morning meetings. Middle School students participate in morning advisory groups. Mornings also mean math for all grades and classes, whether that's counting seeds in a pumpkin or applying mathematical theorems to real life problems.

Recess

Snack is available to all students at the cafeteria, and recess takes place at the playground, blacktop, field, and garden.

Pick up Procedures

TK and Kindergarten pick up may be different from that of the older students: teachers will guide families as our youngest students learn to navigate the campus over the year.

Student Sign-in and Sign-out Procedures

In the event that a student must leave while school is in session, a parent/guardian or authorized adult (listed as an emergency contact) must sign the student out in or order for Discovery to comply with state guidelines for student safety. The Student Sign-in/Sign-out Log is located in the school office, on the iPads. Please come to the office, where you will meet your student. Make every attempt to schedule appointments for your child outside of regular school hours. If your child must leave school for an appointment, but will be returning, you must sign your child back in at the office when you return.
