A Place to Grow and Change = DCS

Jenna was born in Modesto, California where she grew up with her two parents and older brother. She left to pursue her studies at California State University, Chico majoring in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Spanish.

She graduated with her B.A. and continued her education by entering the, Tri-Placement Program, a postgraduate study to obtain her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. This dynamic cohort of individuals contributed to her extensive experience in studying under highly qualified cooperating teachers, while engaging in comprehensive field experience with learners from diverse backgrounds.

After graduating from her credential program, Jenna moved here to the bay area to start her teaching career at DCS! She was thrilled to be given the opportunity to teach at a parent participation school that values the whole child, similar to the elementary school she attended when she was young.

Her philosophy in the classroom includes making a community of learners with a student-centered approach, which will both answer their needs and provide a challenging curriculum that creates opportunities for growth. She believes that social emotional learning should be at the forefront of all lesson and learning, helping to increase students awareness, empathy, individuality, and regulation of feelings, thoughts, and emotions.

Jenna provides a classroom where each learner is accepted, valued, and held to the expectation of high achievement. She is one to keep an open mind, a watchful eye, and a reflective heart in her teaching career, holding collaboration with colleagues in high regard.
